List of projects by country
The nationwide “Youth-to-Youth” programme in Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda encompasses an extensive range of activities, including: establishing and supervising youth clubs; leadership and life skills training; training of peer educators and counsellors; training of health personnel in youth-friendly service delivery; developing and distributing information materials; referring people in need of assistance to youth-friendly health services; dialogue with local and religious leaders, parents and teachers; training of business skills and in implementing income generating activities within the youth clubs.

Besides our nationwide “Youth-to-Youth” programmes in each of our four African focus countries we engage in active political dialogue with politicians at the local, regional and national level. Furthermore, we supported the following country-specific programmes in 2009

Ethiopia
Kenya
  • Integration of sports/football with sexual education projects
  • Establishment of self sustainable youth empowerment centres • Mobile HIV testing and counselling services in three different regions
  • Training youth as home-based care providers for people living with AIDS
  • Integrated environmental protection and family planning project in the Kakamega rainforest

Tanzania
  • Extension of the training centre near Arusha
  • Youth truck – mobile sexual and reproductive health education
  • Fit for Future” – combined sexual education and skills training especially for girls working in the informal sector
Uganda
Cambodia
  • Sexual and reproductive health education at schools in the Kandal District
Nepal
  • Sexual education in twelve rural outreach clinics of the Dhulikhel hospital, Kavrepalanchok District
