Integrated projects
Family planning and environmental protection
A high population growth rate can push poor countries to the limits of their ecological capacity. In these countries, where vital resources, such as food, clean water and fire wood become increasingly scarce, more and more people suffer.
In regions facing such ecological problems, DSW supports projects, which link family planning, environmental protection and the protection of resources. Sexual and reproductive health education also plays a major role in these projects.

Recognising it's strong commitment in implementing integrated social-environmental-economic projects in Africa and Asia, DSW has been awarded a US $15,000 stipend as part of the Alcan Prize for Sustainability. The prize recognises outstanding contributions to the goal of economic, environmental and social sustainability. DSW is the only European organisation prize winner.
